PARKLAND HEIGHTS

NEW CONSTRUCTION / CONCEPTUAL STUDY

DCT began a study in 2021 for a wooded property in Langhorne, PA. The lot presented significant challenges in the form of site access and utility availability. Located in an otherwise dense existing neighborhood and overlooking the Neshaminy Valley, the parcel was a diamond in the rough that lends itself to creative development.

Taking advantage of the small lot’s orientation DCT looked to create a residence with 3 beds and 2 baths which maximized space, and minimized environmental impact. Taking advantage of rain water collection and purification as well as solar access with battery back-up, the home is self sufficient providing enough energy to cover daily electrical use, and regularly charge two electric vehicles.

As the site has a considerable slope, which suddenly drops off to a set of train tracks, exterior space is limited. This constraint inspired the design team to incorporate exterior living and entertainment space on each level of the home.

This project is on-going, and will be continuously updated.
