MELBOURNE, FLORIDA

A modern take on Speakeasy style along the intercoastal waterway in Melbourne

PROJECT TYPE
Hospitality - Restaurant

STATUS:
Active Development

LOCATION:
Melbourne, Florida

SCOPE:
Architecture & Design

CIEL NØIR is a rooftop bar and restaurant concept located at the top level of a mid-rise hotel in Melbourne, Florida. The project is centered on creating a distinct destination within the building—one that contrasts the openness of its elevated position with a more controlled, immersive interior experience.

The design is driven by contrast and sequence. Guests move from the brightness and transparency of the hotel into a darker, more intimate environment where lighting, material, and spatial compression define the experience. Entry is intentionally understated, reinforcing the speakeasy concept while creating a sense of discovery and transition.

Inside, the layout is organized to balance atmosphere with operational performance. The bar acts as the primary anchor, positioned to maximize visibility and efficiency while supporting high-volume service. Dining and lounge areas are layered around it, creating a range of seating conditions that support both short-term occupancy and extended stays.

Material selections reinforce the concept. A darker palette, combined with textured surfaces and controlled lighting, establishes a consistent identity throughout the space. Reflections, shadows, and contrast are used strategically to create depth without adding visual clutter.

Despite its enclosed and intimate character, the space remains connected to its elevated setting. Select openings and controlled sightlines frame views outward, allowing the rooftop condition to enhance the experience without compromising the overall atmosphere.

CIEL NØIR is designed as a destination within a destination—an environment that prioritizes clarity in operations while delivering a distinct, experience-driven identity.
